Newsletter September 2005 - Show Time

First of all many thanks to everybody for their help setting everything up on Friday morning, (all workers should have received a free ticket for the Show), for acting on the sales table throughout the Show itself and finally for helping to clear away after the Show. The Horticultural Society were very grateful for the assistance we gave. The Show itself appears to have been very successful. The fine weather certainly helped and I understand the "beer tent" ran out of supplies and had to send out for replenishments! Our own plant sales were not as good as in previous years. I suspect too many people were enjoying the outside activities. Thank you to everyone who donated plants and my personal thanks to Alistair for guiding me through the role of steward to our judge Mike Stansbie who travelled up from Coventry to examine our exhibits. The total entries were 210 which was a good increase on the previous year.
