Zone SymposiumStill time to get a ticket for the Zone 19 Symposium at Wilmslow on 24th September. Even though it’s now too late for the early booking discount the event is still excellent value for £15. OctoberIvor Crook has been to the branch a number of times as a visitor. This month he comes for the first time in the role of a speaker. The title of Ivor’s talk is “I’ve got one of those, it’s in Amsterdam”. However, we’re not going to Holland, Ivor is taking us to south America to share in his experiences there and all will be revealed. NovemberThis month we’re running a repeat of last year’s successful evening called “Here’s my plant” when you were invited to bring a plant whether it was your best, your worst, your healthiest, your poorliest, your newest, your oldest, one you knew everything about or one you knew nothing about was immaterial and you told us a little about it. The response was excellent. Please respond equally well to “Here’s another of my plants”. (I’m sure nobody will mind if it’s the same plant a year older.) DecemberFor our Christmas meeting we have a shorter talk and often depart from the usual cactus or succulent topics; that’s what’s happening this year. Our member, Harold Cooper, will demonstrate that he’s a man of many talents and activities when he treats us to a bit of “Animal Magic”. As usual for December, please bring a “plate” of some Christmas food.
