Hi there everyone! I can hardly believe that it's twelve months ago that I was writing to you about the silly season, but here it is again. December 1st and already some people have got their decorations up. Is it me? Am I the only person that doesn't get into the Christmas mode until the third week? Why can't I park anywhere in town? Why does it take me twice as long to get anywhere? Where does everybody come from? I do love Christmas really, especially as this year we've been invited to our daughter's. No cooking, no washing pots, lovely. I hope I speak for everyone who attended the November meeting, when I say what a very enjoyable evening it was. We all had time to chat, interact and learn. As usual there were some interesting subjects: Elizabeth's Sedum compactum growing in Tufa rock, Sybil's tiny Lithops grown by herself from seed, Roger Hensman's poorly Testudinaria elephantipes, Julia's Stapeliad and bargain Echinocactus grusonii, and many more were all good talking points. I loved the leggy Ceropegia, especially as I won it in the raffle! Alasdair let us into his secret that he feeds the snails in winter by feeding them his Mammillaria flower buds, isn't that kind of him? Roger Adamson brought in some superb books with beautiful illustrations. Thank you to everyone who participated. I'm looking forward to the December meeting with Harold Cooper talking about Animal Magic, and of course our Christmas goodies. Well that's about it for now, but I'd like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas, and hopefully a peaceful New Year. Season's Greetings Christine Foye
