Teeside Symposium

Please note the Teesside Symposium on 25th March 2006. Teesside members have been very good supporters of all our Zone 19 events and it’s to be hoped our members will return the compliment.

January

We always try to have a local speaker in January and this year it’s our Secretary, Julia Davenport. Over a number of years Julia has visited many countries in Europe and beyond and has subsequently entertained and enthralled us with accounts of her travels, always illustrated with excellent photographs. In her latest talk we’ll learn something of the wonderful plant collections she’s visited in Europe.

February

Would you believe it? The AGM’s come round again A very necessary event and a chance for everyone to learn what we’re doing and how we’re doing, and to have their say if they want. Hopefully, the meeting won’t go on for too long so that we will have time to look at the pictures and slides you’re invited to bring to the meeting. Slide projector and screen will be available if required.

March

David Rushforth from Southport has visited the branch quite a few times and we are always assured of a good talk. Sometimes, in David’s case, it’s difficult to deduce the content of the talk from the title. “Growing the impossible” is no exception. However, I can tell you that the “impossible” includes very large plants, the very small and the very difficult and this all makes for a very entertaining evening with one of the North West’s leading growers of cacti and succulents. David will very likely be bringing plants for sale.
