![]() Stockport Coucil’s Helping Hand exhibit at Tatton.
The fingers and palm are Sempervivums and Echeverias Quite a few pieces of information have been circulated recently regarding conventions and symposia. We have been informed that the American National event suffered heavy losses, there was concern that advance booking for next year’s BCSS Convention is below the required level, although I believe that it has picked a bit now. At the local level, the Zone 6 at Leicester day seems to be filling up, the Zone 5/Chester symposium planned for Ness Gardens has had to be cancelled through lack of support while, on the other hand, the Zone 3 Rally in Yorkshire (offered at a reduced price this year) is a sellout. There is talk of a Zone 19 Symposium next year. If it becomes reality, please book early and this applies to other events; late cancellations are very expensive for the organisers and may mean that a future event will not even be planned. — Alasdair Glen
